The Academic Background of Ragnar Horn

The Harvard Business School established its campus in 1924. It was in December 1962 that a vote was passed to allow women to get direct access into the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program. The first woman to seek direct application into the program in September 1963. Right from the onset, the Harvard Business School enjoyed solid connections with the world of business.

Most of its alumni are respected corporate leaders from states all over the world. Ragnar Horn is a business figure from Norway who has graduated from the MBA program at Harvard Business School. Ragnar Horn is a part of the donor alumni associations known as the Global Leaders Circle. The Norwegian corporate mogul frequently gives financial aid.

The Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) from Harvard and Harvard Business School made an announcement citing the launch of a combined postgraduate program referred to as the MS/MBA Biotechnology: Life Sciences Program, which would span two years. It was projected to begin in August 2020. Scholars who finished the program granted a Master of Business Administration from HBS and a Master of Science from GSAS. The combined degree program offers scholars with knowledge about management, life sciences, and biotechnology, facilitating the understanding of science and corporate intersect for the benefit of the community.

The curriculum stresses understanding the sustainable corporate models that will result in the discoveries of recent therapeutics and new drugs. Prospective candidates targeted in the new program are scholars with undergraduate programs in life sciences or medicine. Students with long working experience in the biotech field are potential candidates for the program.

Background Information

Scholars who lack a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) degree will be considered as long as they have considerable experience in life sciences such as lab experience or have studied advanced programs in life sciences. Such requirements will be evaluated on top of the HBS MBA program. The new program is projected to have a student population of seven to ten during its first year.
