Isabel dos Santos has never shied away from doing the dirty work to get the job done. In Candando, she had a goal of raising money and promoting sustainable development in health, education and child nutrition. The name of the project was called the Arredonda project and it was launched in 2016. The project and its fundraising was a relatively easy process as well. The way that the project received the funding was by having the option of donating the remaining change at the supermarket to the project. The results were astounding. With the funds raised, the project was able to raise 8.5M akz.
Isabel dos Santos and her efforts were able to purchase 29 air conditioning units for a pediatric hospital, ensure the renewal of the climatization of the Intensive Care, Intermediate care, Urgency Bank, Day Hospital, External consultation, and Pharmacy Depot. This initiative granted much-needed support to the air quality and overall wellbeing of the children in the hospital.
Isabel dos Santos is responsible for assisting the children at the David Bernardino Pediatric Hospital and this year Isabel dos Santos is committed to raising double the fund amount raised last year. She is quoted as stating, “We maintain this project that is so important to us with the aim of continuing to raise funds to improve the hospitalization conditions of children at the pediatric hospital David Bernardino.” and she did just that.
